Photos from the Membership Drive (11)
Our June 1st Membership Drive at the YWCA was a great success! We welcomed many new members to AK Connection. Many of our members also came away with beautiful hanbok of their very own. -
ABOUT THE HANBOK BANK (1)
Mr. Woodrow Byun started the Hanbok Bank by asking for hanboks from his friends and family members living in Korea. These hanboks were to be donated to adopted Koreans to help them reconnect with Korea and Korean culture. Mr. Byun recently passed his Hanbok Bank project on to AK Connection in order to reach a larger number of Korean adoptees. We are grateful for this opportunity to continue Mr. Byun's project. Thank you, Mr. Byun! -
Beautiful Hanboks (16)
There are currently approximately 100 hanboks in the AK Connection Hanbok Bank. The hanboks are in great condition and come in various sizes, colors, and patterns for men, women, and children. They will be available to AK Connection members who have paid the $20 membership dues ($15 for students). We will be charging an additional fee of $20 for each hanbok to help cover shipping, storage, cleaning, repair, and administrative costs. This is a great deal, since these hanbok in Korea can cost anywhere from $100-$500. Please note that there is a limit of one adult hanbok per paying member. Paying members may be able to purchase additional children's hanbok(s) depending on availability. Stay tuned for information on the next Hanbok Bank event. We will continually add photos here of the available hanboks.
