"After serving the board of Adopted Korean Connection (AK Connection) for almost ten years and being President for the past four years, it is time for me to pass the torch.  It has truly been an honor to serve this organization and our community.  I have been grateful to have met so many amazing people over the years; I have developed many long-term friendships.  Together, we have worked hard to keep our community active.  I am extremely proud of the last few years as the board and I have tried to diversify the events AK Connection sponsors, such as lectures from adoption researchers, a documentary screening, book discussions and evenings of music, just to name a few.  We are fortunate to have so many talented individuals in the community!

My plans for the future are to focus more on my career, and work on becoming certified as a CMP (Certified Meeting Professional).  Even though I am stepping down, I am going to serve in an advisory role to the organization so I can still offer input and guidance when needed.  I would like to congratulate our new President, David Moschkau, for taking the lead.  I look forward to him elevating AK Connection to a new level with new events and ideas.  I know he will continue to do great things for the organization and community.

Lastly, I want to thank all who have supported AK Connection over the years as a past board member, volunteer, member or just simply showing up to our events!  AK Connection would not exist if it weren’t for you, your time and financial resources.  Please continue to support AK Connection by simply becoming a member!  We have re-established our membership program and we offer great incentives to our members.

Thank you again for giving me the opportunity to have been a part of your lives and AK Connection."

_"As I accept the torch as the new President of AK Connection, I will try to not burn myself.  Having served as Vice President under Lisa for the past year, I have a high appreciation for what is involved in serving as President.  It requires hard work and dedication but, I believe in this organization and I promise to do what is necessary to continue the good work AK Connection has done so far under the direction of Lisa and the board.

I would like to thank Lisa for her tremendous support through the years in keeping AK Connection alive and well.  Her tireless dedication has brought our community many events that have benefited Korean adoptees throughout the state.

I would also like to thank the current board members for their continued support of AK Connection and myself as President.  Nothing would get accomplished without the dedication of the board and the effort they put forth in continuing to organize our events.

And finally, I would like to thank you, our members, without which there would be no need for AK Connection.  Your interest and participation in our events make everything worthwhile.  I would ask for your continued support and provide constructive criticism where needed.

I look forward to working with the board, along with the guidance of Lisa, to bring new events and programs to forge our relationship with adoptees and other adoptee organizations closer together."
