MISSION
The mission of AK Connection is to be a resource for adult Korean adoptees by providing information and building a supportive community.

Our Goals:
1. Provide a website dedicated to the global community of Korean Adoptees. This web site displays current information and resources of interest to Korean Adoptees.


2. Host educational, cultural, and social events or activities. These events and activities have the objectives of fostering friendship, building community, and providing support for the various needs and interests in Minnesota's adult adopted Korean community.

 
MEET THE BOARD

LISA MEDICI - President
Lisa was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1980. She was adopted at the age of 8 months and grew up in Richfield, Minnesota. Lisa graduated with a bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management at University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire in 2002. In July 2001, Lisa participated in the Holt Summer School Program in Ilsan, South Korea. She was a camp counselor for Camp Choson in July 2002, went to the IKAA Gathering in Seoul in 2004 and was a planning committee member for the IKAA Gathering in 2007. Lisa currently works at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center in Plymouth, MN as a Conference Service Manager. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys tae kwon do, golf, traveling, poker, and hanging with friends.

LISA ELLINGSON - Vice President
Lisa was born in Seoul, South Korea and grew up in northern Minnesota.  She attended the College of St. Catherine and the University of St. Thomas School of Law.  Lisa spent the fall of 2004 participating in the IIIHR program for Korean adoptees at Inje University in Gimhae, South Korea.  In 2007, she presented at the IKAA Gathering Research Symposium in Seoul.  She is currently an attorney at Dorsey & Whitney in Minneapolis.

NINA BERGLUND - Secretary

Nina was born in Wonju City, South Korea and grew up in Eveleth, Minnesota. Nina attended Carleton College in Northfield and the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis. She volunteered at Kamp Kimchee in 1997. Nina and her husband are both attorneys and recently started their own law practice.

HYEMIN YI - Board Member
Hyemin arrived in the United States in Feburary 1982. He grew up in Mounds View, Minnesota and graduated from Irondale High School. After serving in the Navy, he traveled around the United States, Europe, and Korea. He enjoys being a film snob and hack golfer.
